Shredder programs

“I’ve worked with every kind of person you can imagine, at the highest levels. Lee is the real deal. He has made me faster on the bike and helped me handle with the stress of my job. This is so awesome!”

J. the media executive

After 20 years of coaching and 10,000 students, I’ve decided to keep publishing widely, but to focus my in-person energy on a small number of riders who can understand and benefit from the level of work I provide — and who I want to work with.

Over the decades I’ve developed a complete approach to bike selection, bike fit, off-bike training, on-bike training and, perhaps most important, the psychology of riding. My clients tend to be Type A hard chargers who simultaneously want to kick more ass and enjoy more peace and flow. The punch line is that by finding peace and flow, you kick more ass both on and off the bike.

Your program is custom tailored just for you, and it evolves as you do. Consider me your own personal mountain bike coach/guru/professor. I am, after all, a Professor of Mountain Biking at Colorado Mountain College in Steamboat Springs CO.

If you are interested, please email me at [email protected]. Tell me why you ride and what you hope to achieve as an athlete and person. If it seems like we’re a fit, we’ll come up with a program for you then hit it!

Here are the basic terms. There is no minimum time commitment. If you’re not 100% stoked tell me and I’ll tweak my approach. If you’re still not happy, stop any time and receive a pro rated refund. These are the basics; if you need something special let’s hash it out.

“It’s like therapy but way better and I can do more with it.”

Platinum

  • Weekly 1-hour Zoom sessions, on bike or off
  • If you’re local, we mix up Zoom and in-person sessions
  • Weekly training plans, both on and off the bike. We communicate about your schedule and I tell you what to do each day (some days are just “have fun with your buddies”, others are a specific focus for a ride, others are off-bike workouts, others are REST). Goals are athlete first, rider second; work with your body and lifestyle; use whatever space and equipment you have; make sure riding adds energy to your life, work and relationships. I’ll work with your PT or trainer if you have one.
    • The results of this can be astounding. One of my platinum bros came to me fit, but in 10 weeks we just increased his endurance power by 25%. He’s 50 and now the fastest in his crew of 30somethings. More importantly he says our work is making his job (running a huge company) easier to handle.
  • Reasonable* access to me by text and phone. Want to share stoke? I’m here. Need some stoke? My tank is full. Starting to obsess about something? I’ll knock that right outta ya. 🙂 Call me from the trail if you need to.
  • Put simply, I’ll use my entire skillset to guide you from here to wherever you want to be in terms of your bike ability. We’ll grow all of your technical skills while making you stronger, more satisfied AND more at peace.
  • $1,000 per month.
  • Spots remaining: 2

“You’re a combination mountain bike and Buddhist therapist for Type A males who are impaired by the modern world.”

“Lee is highly technical and also highly intuitive. Very rare.”

George the radiologist

Here’s a 5-star Google Review from Gabe:

I’ve been riding for years and have attended several in-person clinics, but recently found myself lacking motivation to ride as often and not enjoying my rides the way I used to when I was in better shape.

Over the past two months I’ve had the chance to work closely with Lee through several Zoom sessions, and the experience has been transformative. Lee is incredibly experienced and tuned-in. He noticed so many small but important details, from where I was looking on the trail to subtle adjustments in my breathing and body position. Focusing on belly breathing during climbs and getting lower in corners were especially helpful breakthroughs.

The results really showed up on the trail. On my local pump track and jump line that I’ve ridden countless times, I felt smoother and more in control. Even on regular rides, I found myself riding more calmly, more relaxed, and surprisingly faster. What stood out was that at first I didn’t feel like I was progressing, but on the trail, I realized just how much smoother and more efficient I had become.

Beyond the technical improvements, working with Lee has helped me better appreciate what I was already capable of and find new enjoyment in the riding I already had access to. My fitness has improved, my motivation is back, and I’m simply having more fun on my bike.

I’d recommend Lee to anyone who wants to improve their riding. Whether you’re just getting started, trying to break through plateaus, or simply looking to enjoy riding more, Lee will be able to help. I’ll definitely enjoy continuing to work with him.
