The only thing Patrick loves more than riding and racing his bike is helping riders improve and find more enjoyment on theirs. He has dedicated his entire professional career to helping people live better, healthier, more fulfilled lives through sport. He brings 20 years of experience as a national-level mountain bike and cyclocross racer and a decade of full-time professional coaching to help athletes in all areas of their game.
Certified as a RideLogic, LLB and USA Cycling skills coach, Patrick has spent many years understanding how riding mechanics work at a fundamental level. Just as important, he has learned teaching methods that work for all backgrounds, experience levels and learning styles.
His superpower is communication and the ability to break down and teach anything. Patrick travels throughout the Northeastern U.S., and beyond, teaching clinics and working with individuals and private groups. Whether you’re brand new to riding or you’re a professional racer, Patrick has the experience and the chops to help you improve.
If you’re in the Northeast, consider a trip to work with Patrick at his home base near Lake Placid, New York. The riding is world class, and there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Many students like to make overnight trips with a mix of instruction and adventure. It’s a great place to bring your family, too.
If when you’re riding, you find yourself constantly in your own head, running checklists, and wondering which skill applies to which situation, we can fix that. The LLB method allows for a quiet mind with a simple and highly effective style of riding. No setup maneuvers, no plateaus, just limitless progression. This doesn’t take weeks and months, either. In 2-3 hours, we can make massive improvements. In one day, we can redefine your riding.
When working with Patrick, expect to rock these skills, plus whatever else you want to learn (and are ready for):
- Riding Positions
- Riding up Steep Things
- Riding Down Steep Things
- Pumping Terrain
- Reading Trail Features
- Choosing Better Lines
- Riding Drops
- Hopping Obstacles
- Shredding and having more fun!
