Remembering masters downhill worlds in 2004

Wow, that an experience! That year I earned the national Cat 1 downhill championship and an invite to wear the stars and stripes at the masters world champs. That’s two dreams come true!

When I heard I was on pace to win, I went too fast in the wrong spot, hit a tree, and finished 8th. It was a wonderful performance, but it’s been bugging me — and I ain’t making that mistake this May in Cairns, Australia.
